Description

Test Instruments
At Cassidian Test & Services Limited, we provide a large range of test instruments from programmable power supplies to general purpose instruments and switching products to high throughput, high accuracy data acquisition products. Our products support all the popular instrument bus structures including PXI, LXI, VXI and GPIB. Our range of switching covers dc to 18GHz (and beyond) as well as power switching capability.
Individual test instrument products are available to integrate into test systems, and we provide pre-integrated core systems based on the source, measure and switch product-line. These systems provide the elements essential to most test systems, including digital multi-meter, counter-timer, waveform generator and switching, all integrated into a 3U high rack-mount or bench enclosure.
We are proud to represent our partner companies:
Bustec C&H Technologies Cassidian Test & Services Clarke-Hess EADS North America Test and Services ET Power Systems LTT Phase Matrix Quartzlock Remmon Remote Monitoring

Test Systems and Integration
We provide a range of test systems from small, portable test systems used to diagnose faults on-board a vehicle or aircraft, to large rack-mount systems typically used in aircraft maintenance and repair organisations (MRO) around the world. Our ATEC family of test systems is deployed in more than 300 locations worldwide and supports all the major civil aircraft families, including Boeing and Airbus.
As well as our range of electronic test systems, we also provide optical test systems. Our latest product, OLISE, due to its small size and portability, is particularly appropriate for small optical equipment such as cameras, sights, and binoculars.
Our military test systems continue to be used by government forces around the world, supporting electro-optical equipment in both mobile and static facilities. Here at Cassidian Test & Services, we continue to provide support for these systems even when programmes extend beyond their 25 year envisaged life-time.

Software
We have a wealth of experience in providing software services to the electronics industry for more than 40 years. From a background in developing test programs and applications software in C, LabVIEW and other popular test languages, we continue to support equipment provided by Cassidian, EADS and also third party system developers/integrators.
In addition to our applications software, we provide a range of tools encompassing:
Computer aided design (evaluation) for modelling electronic and mechanical systems Standards compliance Requirements capture and documentation services Emulation software to allow replacement of old test instruments Complete software environments for simulation and real-time evaluation of systems

Prognostics
Prognostics is the study of evaluation of equipment performance to determine the remaining useful life and ultimately to predict failure. Cassidian Test & Services is proud to represent Ridgetop Group Inc., a leader in the development of prognostic techniques applied to chip level, electro-mechanical items and whole systems.
At the integrated circuit level, SJ-BIST monitors the condition of connections in Ball-Grid Array and Column Grid Array circuits. Over a period of time these devices suffer degradation of performance due to the development of hairline cracks through mechanical and thermal stresses natural through the lifetime of the equipment. These show up as intermittent failures which ultimately cause the circuits to fail as the problem increases in severity. Advance information of the condition of these joints allows early diagnosis and repair / replacement.
At module level, Ringdown allows the monitoring of many types of power circuit which are an essential but inherently unreliable element of all electronic systems. Where access to the power supply is difficult or expensive, or where replacement on a recommended schedule is prohibitive due to down-time costs, Ringdown can provide a reliable indication of the remaining useful life of the power circuits allowing an informed replacement during other scheduled maintenance operations for the system.
Sentinel Networks software monitors network infrastructure integrity, including addition and removal of equipment as well as the condition of the communication between devices. It also allows communication of condition information over a network to maintenance depots to support predictive maintenance actions on equipment prior to a system failure.

Obsolescence Management
Many industries, in particular nuclear and defence industries, use obsolescence management electronic systems to control and monitor critical events. The avionics industry generally uses avionics test systems to provide repeatable service across many applications. Owners of equipment endeavour to keep the systems in operation for as long as possible. In the avionics industry it is now common place for aircraft platforms to be retained in excess of their envisaged lifetime and therefore the equipment used to support the platform also has a requirement to be maintained.
Here at Cassidian Test & Services Limited, we guarantee to keep complex electronic systems available for decades through a series of obsolescence management techniques developed over time, even where the original equipment manufacturer is no longer contactable and the documentation has been lost.

PCB Cloning
When it is necessary to extend the life of an electronic system, it is not always possible to find replacement circuit boards and parts that are obsolete. Re-designing the system is not an option due to the cost involved. It is more cost effective to replicate existing electronics modules using PCB cloning and reverse engineering techniques rather than re-designing all or part of the system. PCB cloning can be achieved even when existing design data has been lost, or is in a format that cannot be used. Cloned circuits are electrically and visibly equivalent and are produced from an existing sample, using automated techniques to discover the interconnectivity and to produce design and manufacturing information suitable to reproduce the circuit.
