Description

B&D Foam Ltd
http://www.bdfoam.com
B&D Foam have been in existence for almost 50 years, originally having been established as Declarmink in 1965. We specialise in converting foam materials for applications such as case inserts, material handling, presentation, and tool control. We have a skilled and highly professional team with a wealth of experience that is committed to the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction.

Design & Development
Our design team work with our clients to provide innovative and cost effective solutions. We can work from any combination of physical parts, drawings, and virtually any format of 2D/3D CAD data. Our designers will utilise the latest 3D modelling software to provide concepts through to final production drawings. The quality of our work is directly linked to programming skills which minimise marking, tearing, and rough edges. B&D Foam have a systematic approach to product development and our experienced design team work closely with our clients throughout this process.

Transit Case Inserts
Transit case inserts protect delicate or sensitive equipment during storage and transportation. Equipment used out in the field can
be protected for its entire lifespan. Foam materials are extremely durable and easily maintained so provide the perfect solution.

Presentation Case Inserts
As well as ensuring a high degree of protection for the contents, case inserts provide a professional display solution. Various colour options or two-tone foam can be utilised to enhance presentation or promote a corporate brand. Logos and text
can also be routed or laser engraved into the foam.

Returnable Packaging
Due to the high protection and durability of foams, they provide the ideal solution for returnable packaging. Rather than throw away the packaging after every delivery, if the packaging can be sent back for re-use it can offer cost as well as environmental benefits. In particular, this methodology aids stock control, batch manufacturing,as well as facilitating lean manufacturing, kanban and JIT manufacturing. Castellations, end caps or divider solutions can also be provided to offer an alternative solution to inserts.

One-way Packaging
Where it is not feasible or cost effective to use returnable packaging, then one-way packaging may be the most realistic choice. Typically, when other packaging materials such as cardboard do not offer enough protection or are too time consuming to
assemble, then foam end caps, castellations or inserts may provide the best option. Less durable but more cost effective materials can be recommended to suit.

Fabrication
As well as being used as a packaging medium, foam is often used for many ad hoc purposes such as linings, gaskets, impact
protection, buoyancy, insulation, acoustics, and composite applications. B&D Foam are experts at specifying the best
material for the required application and fabricating it into different shapes and sizes to accomodate any such requirement.

Tool Control
Not only is it essential to protect tools in storage, it is equally important to have a means of controlling their use. Looking for the right tool in a drawer full of tools or having to go searching for a missing tool can result in the loss of valuable production time. The solution is a two-tone foam insert. If the toolkit changes it is also easy to modify the program.
