Duckworth and Kent (Reading) Ltd are a precision engineering company with over 45 years experience in CNC machining and tool making for a variety of industries worldwide. Our main services include precision CNC machining, CNC turning, spark / wire Erosion, EDM fast hole drilling, grinding, conventional machining and assembly processes.
At Duckworth and Kent (Reading) Ltd, we have invested in the latest state of the art machinery along with our extensive skill sets which enable us to undertake projects, from the development and manufacture of special purpose machinery to small batch and full production machining of piece parts, while working from a variety of drawing media in close partnership with our customers.


Precision CNC Machining
Our precision CNC machining services are ISO registered, and we provide full materials traceability with total quality assurance. We offer one/off component parts and full batch production using a variety of materials and machining techniques.
We manufacture precision machined components for the defence, motorsport, electronics and oil & gas industries. We specialize in complex machining and difficult to machine components in various materials.


Special Purpose Machinery
We have a dedicated team of highly skilled engineers who are able to undertake work from the development and manufacture of special purpose machinery through to small batch and full production machining of piece parts.
We work closely with our customers to provide a highly specialised and bespoke service using our special purpose machinery.


Machine Build and Assembly
We take a great deal of pride in our machine build and assembly services, and continually invest in providing the best precision tooling options.
We have two easy access machine build and assembly areas on site. They are equipped with compressed air, single / 3 phase electricity and fitting benches. (751 sq.ft) (70.20 sq.metres) and 662 sq.ft (61.5 sq.metres) respectively.




Inspection and Quality Assurance
Inspection and quality assurance measure are in place throughout all stages of component manufacturing. We are an ISO 9002 registered company. With all our projects, all work is carried out to the highest standard, and full materials traceability can be provided.



Toolmaking Services
We provide a high quality engineered solution to a wide range of industry sectors for machining and toolmaking services. Full toolmaking and design to customer component drawings including development work.




Wire EDM and Spark Erosion Services
We have a vast range of wire EDM and spark erosion services within our air conditioned facilities. Whether performed in house or through one of our approved contractors, our spark erosion services will meet all your expectations.
