In order to carry out free basic searches and register a Business Name you can complete and return an application form by post or apply online through our website www.start.biz.

On receipt of your application we will check that your chosen name is legal, search all business and company name databases (plus trade marks if requested) to ensure it does not conflict with any existing names, it is then added to the National Business Register database and your certificate is issued. Your name is then protected against passing off

Membership costs ?80 plus vat. Searches against trade marks are more complex. A trade mark search can be undertaken for ?80 plus vat. Additional certificates can be provided for business name registration for ?10.00 plus vat.

We also offer Limited Company Formation, the main benefit of this is that should a business fail, limited liability can protect the owner from personal loss. Full information can be found on our website www.start.biz and the fee for this is ?135 inc vat.

We also provide a Domain Name Registration service that includes services such as domain registration, hosting and website design. Prices range from ?30 inc vat.
