Description
On Board are a specialist surface mount electronic assembly company based in Darwen, Lancashire who offer a fast, competent and friendly service, producing quality work at sensible prices.
This is our NINETEENTH year in surface mount assembly - Doesn?t time fly when you?re having fun?
January 1991 - On Board began trading using an Automatic Pick & Place Machine, in a lean-to garage, at the side of their family home.
October 1994 saw a move to the Darwen Enterprise Centre. This move being forced upon them, with the new arrival to the family of their second Pick & Place Machine.
In April 1998 Russell joined his parents, Lynne and Fred in the family business, their third machine being purchased at the same time.
February 2001 - move to new premises in Blackburn and a fourth Pick and Place Machine.
April 2001 - Kevin, Lynne and Fred?s other son, joined On Board.
November 2001 saw the FIFTH Pick and Place Machine.
January 2002 - Pam Foote joins the team.
August 2004 - replacement of one of old P/P machines & scrapping of our first P/P machine.
April 2005 - Automatic Inspection Machine bought.
February 2006 - Move to our new premises in Darwen.
April 2006 - Oven upgraded

Inspection is carried out at EVERY stage of assembly - to give YOU a product that looks good and sails through your final test.
The scope of the company includes - PROCUREMENT, PRODUCTION, INSPECTION, REWORK, QUALITY CONTROL & TRACEABILITY.
The target market for the business is small production runs-the smallest quantity is ONE!

Equipment
At On Board we aim to get your product to you on time.
We have 4 Pick & Place machines. Our flagship is the latest Versatronic Q Placer, plus 3 Versatronic RV4S machines to keep job change over times to a minimum. The machines can take BGAs to 0402s.
This gives a total capability of 10,000 placements/hour with up to 400 different components!!!
Our two reflow ovens are both from SMT. An IR 10? belt width was the first oven, the latest being a computer controlled, forced air convection with 17? belt width provides plenty of heat in the winter -] Oh, incidentally it processes assemblies quickly too!!!
