Lighting Building Regulations 2013 - Part L
2013 amendments to the building regulations; what about lighting?
DCLG made some changes to the Building Regulations in December 2012 including amendments to Part L, which encompasses lighting, to implement the recast Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). The decision was made not to update the current ADLs and the latest ADLs are therefore dated 2010 with further 2010 or 2011 amendments.
On the wider Part L changes to strengthen standards, there have been no decisions/announcements as of yet. DCLG will publish a detailed plan, setting out its response to the 2012 consultation on the energy efficiency requirements in building regulations, by May 2013, with the intent to publish new 2013 ADLs towards the end of the year.
