Company Profile
Prima Board Converters Ltd commenced production in May 2002. We progressed quickly by being an honest and reliable Company producing high quality products with an excellent service.
Prima believe in the personal touch and that the customer should be kept informed at all times. Our efficient sales and key production personnel have over 126 years core manufacturing experience. This vital knowledge ensures that we can consistantly manufacture and supply first rate cores and tubes, designed to customers own particular requirements and specifications. Prima have a wide customer base across the manufacturing industry, supplying to companies throughout the UK.
Prima are able to supply cores made from high quality raw materials to give a uniform product from batch to batch, enabling our customers own production processes to run more smoothly. Our product is controlled by using our "top of the range" Instron testing equipment which is capable of crushing cores of the highest grades available.
Due to further growth, Prima moved to a larger 12,000 square feet factory in December 2004 and soon expanded on the same site increasing to 18,000 square feet in January 2006. In January 2008 we expanded again on the same site totalling 30,000 square feet where we are currently based.
Prima are looking forward to a long and prosperous future for all of their employees and to achieving great success for all concerned.

Raw Materials Storage Area
High quality raw materials of various specified grades right up to the strongest coreboards available, from reliable and reputable sources, are used in our manufacturing process and are stored in our large warehouse for immediate use.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS
The cores are professionally formed spirally on the machinery ensuring a consistent high quality product throughout manufacture. The cores are cut precisely and accurately to length on the digital knife unit. The cores can also be cut down to short lengths from 8mm, to a high accuracy, on our Falcon core re-cutter.
Packaging and Storage
The cores are palletised in various forms to suit customer requirements. Cores can be held in stock for call off within 1 or 2 days either at our factory in Sandycroft or at local warehousing to our customers. The obvious advantage of using this facility would be buffer stocks of cores, which would be available for delivery/collection at any time, thus eliminating any emergency deliveries and long distance haulage problems, with today?s current traffic congestion and adverse weather conditions.
Transport and Distribution
Cores can be transported to our customers anywhere in the UK, by reliable and reputable companies, ensuring the products arrive when required and safely at their destination. There is a large loading and offloading area to the rear of the factory where trailers can be left ready for loading and collected by transport to ensure that they leave on time for their destination.
RE-CYCLING OF WASTE PRODUCT
All of our cardboard and plastic waste is recycled into bales ready for collection by a registered waste recycling company. The recyclable product is then processed to produce further tonnes of cardboard and plastic, in many various forms.
Displays
Cores have many varied uses in different industries throughout the world. Most everyday products we use in our day to day lives have at some stage been in contact or have needed the use of a cardboard core or tube. Display tubes are just a small selection of their uses.
They are also used for making theater and film set props for columns point of sale and exhibition displays.
