Rapid Prototyping
Prototype Parts Ltd is a small, friendly, prototyping bureau, with the facilities and expertise to assist in all areas of prototyping and product development using Stereolithography (SLA), Selected Laser Sintering (SLS) or Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) coupled with downstream processes - vacuum castings and RIM moulding.
Stereolithography
Stereolithography produces fairly robust prototypes from 3D CAD data by curing a photosensitive resin using an ultraviolet laser. Stereolithography prototypes can easily be finished and painted and are ideal for use as masters for vacuum casting multiple copies in polyurethane resin from silicone tooling.
Selective Laser Sintering (SLS)
Selective Laser Sintering produces robust prototypes from 3D CAD data by sintering polyamide powder using a CO2 laser.
Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM)
FDM produces robust prototypes from 3D CAD data by extruding a thin filament of moulten plastic and building the prototypes up layer by layer each layer bonding its self to the next. There are a variety of materials available including ABS, PC/ABS & Polycarbonate.
