Wirex is jointly owned by Mr Michael Higson and Mr David Marsden, and has been sited at its current premises in Great Harwood in Lancashire since 1988.

The company operates on a 24 hours a day/5 days a week plus single shifts at weekend basis, therefore offering an unrivalled service. All programming and planning for the 14 wire erosion machines is carried out by Mr Higson and Mr Marsden and then downloaded to a highly skilled workforce.

The company specialises in the wire erosion and spark erosion of every aspects of engineering including PRESS TOOLS/MOULD TOOLS/TURBINE BLADES/COMPONENT PRODUCTION WORK.


Spark Erosion
Wirex has 3 Charmiles ran type sink eroders with opening style tanks that enable large work pieces or long shafts to be accommodated.

Wirex currently has 14 wire erosion machines which are all 4 axis and can take up to 1 ton on the bed, and can cut through a thickness of 312mm


Precision Engineering
Wirex can offer precision engineering in all aspects of the engineering field, carried out by highly skilled toolmakers and have in-house lathes/millers surface grinders.


Press Tool Engineering
Wirex offers a wide variety of processes on site, we have several large bed presses with coil feed capability and can be used with a wide range of metals.
